Recorded in Minneapolis with producer Rob Oesterlin, Hours Were the Birds captures Adrianne Lenker before Big Thief’s breakthrough. Centred on acoustic guitar and her unmistakable voice, its ten songs offer intimate storytelling and a vivid picture of an artist finding her way. Originally issued on Saddle Creek, the album joins Lenker’s 4AD catalogue with this vinyl reissue.
